PRODUCTION OF ETHYLENE GLYCOL SOLUBLE GERMANIUM DIOXIDE AND DISSOLVING METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a crystalline germanium dioxide having excellent solubility in the producing method of a catalyst solution for polyester production in high yield by hydrolyzing germanium tetrachloride under a specific condition. SOLUTION: In the reaction for producing the crystalline germanium dioxide by hydrolyzing germanium tetrachloride, germanium tetrachloride and water are mixed with each other at 0-20 deg.C, and then, the reaction mixture is kept at 0-20 deg.C for 1-48 hr. The germanium catalyst solution for polyester production is produced by removing produced water from the reaction liquid in the reaction to dissolve the produced crystalline germanium dioxide into ethylene glycol.
