PAGES MISSING/INCORRECT COLLATING DETECTOR FOR BOOKBINDING MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the presence of pages missing of a fold section gathered by a gathering machine for bookbinding and simultaneously detect the presence of incorrect collating due to the misplacement or the like of the fold section on a fold section supply table in the gathering machine. SOLUTION: This pages missing/incorrect collating detector includes each pattern reading means 14 provided at a predetermined position so as to correspond to each fold section supply table 1 and capable of reading a display pattern P of each gathered fold section (a) during movement by a gathering chain 9 in a reading region at the predetermined position, a read data storage means, a fold section identification data defining means for making fold section identification data proper to the related fold section definite on the basis of the fold section read data stored for each fold section supply table, a fold section identification data registration means, and a data identity comparison/ collation means for comparing and collating the identity between each of the read data obtained by successively reading the patterns with the aid of the respective pattern reading means after registration and each of the fold section identification data registered for each of the fold section supply tables.
