Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a receiver to speedily recover from the loss of data or the occurrence of data destruction. SOLUTION: A digital compressed video signal transmission system equipped with a transfer processor for dividing compressed MPEG video data into transfer cells for transmission is provided in order to detect lost or destroyed data for the synchronization of the system by uniquely defining transferred data of several protocol levels. Transfer cells have three levels; and the 1st level includes service relating to data including a field indicating the state of the scrambling of a signal, the 2nd includes a field for discriminating one of several alternative formats as a field where a cell payload is arranged and a continuous count for a decision on the continuity of data, and the 3rd level includes a payload and a field indicating a decodable entry point for re-entering a data stream after data loss.
