TRANSFORMER WITH TAP SWITCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a transformer with tap switches into a simple tank structure having a short entire length and hence a small domination area by disposing two tap switches symmetrically about the center line of the transformer at a specified angle from the center line. SOLUTION: A transformer 100 with tap switches has a transformer body 1 and two tap switches 4 stored in a transformer body tank 5 having the width W2. The two tap switches 4 are disposed symmetrically about the center line of the transformer body 1 at an angle θ which is smaller than 90 deg.. The angle θis so set that a minimum necessary space for electric insulation and a wiring work may be secured between the transformer body tank 5 and the outline of the tap switches 4. As a result, the transformer 100 with tap switches can be made into a simple tank structure having a short entire length and its domination area can be reduced.
