MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic recording/reproducing device capable of maintaining the always optimum reproducing ability by preventing the quality of the reproduced signal from degrading due to the temperature change of a recording medium. SOLUTION: A resistance element 31 is provided on a suspension of a head 12 as the temperature measuring means, and the temperature of the recording medium 13 is estimated from an output signal VT of this resistance element 31 and the output temperature information TS of a temperature sensor 14 installed on the place easy to arrange in the device, then from this estimated value, the recording current amplitude value AIW of optimum for the temperature of the recording medium 13 is decided and intermittently inputted to a head IC 11 including an amplitude control means of recording current.
