REMOTE MAINTENANCE SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost for a communication between an actual site and a maintenance center by selecting a communication means while giving priority to the communication speed for maintenance data which can be transmitted together among maintenance data to be sent to a computer for maintenance. SOLUTION: An object computer 102 to be maintained once receiving a request from the computer 101 for maintenance performs retrieval from a process kind table and checks whether or not the request is an object of batch processing. When the request is the object of batch processing, the request is put in an execution queue and the computer 101 for maintenance is informed that the request is processed at a time. Then the request is taken out and executed, and its result is saved. Thus, information which is large in data amount is specified as an object of batch transmission and transferred together from the computer 102 to the computer 101 through the Internet 104 which is inexpensive and fast. Consequently, the inexpensive and fast communication line is used for information which need not have high security to reduce the communication cost.
