Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double-layer capacitor capable of reducing the number of its manufacturing steps necessary for the formation and lamination of electrode members. SOLUTION: A first elongated active carbon cloth 3, having nearly the same shape as that of an elongated separator 5, is overlapped with one surface of the separator 5 impregnated with an electrolyte solution and alternately folded back in different directions by each prescribed length, an elongated aluminum foil 1 having nearly the same shape as that of the first cloth 3 is overlapped with the first cloth 3, a second elongated active carbon cloth 4 having nearly the same shape as that of the separator 5 is overlapped with the other surface of the separator 5, a second elongated aluminum foil 2 having nearly the same shape as that of the second cloth 4 is overlapped with the second cloth 4 and then pushed thereagainst, to continuously form a 5-layer electrode member of the first aluminum foil 1, first cloth 3, separator 5, second cloth 4 and second aluminum foil 2.
