PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a history information management device which retrieve and extract history information covering data in plural forms and output data without generating a data base or a program for update history management in each data form with respect to data which are managed in various forms and to provide a storage medium. SOLUTION: At the time of input and update of various transaction data, inputted and updated transaction data are collectively preserved in a print data file 7d for preservation in a print data form, and update history management information of transaction data is collectively preserved in a print data update history management file 7e in a form corresponding to the print data; and at the time of retrieval of history information, retrieval based on update history management information is performed, and transaction data corresponding to extracted information are extracted and outputted from the print data file 7d for preservation.
