Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device and an inspecting method of a liquid crystal display element capable of detecting the liquid crystal display element having an abnormal lighting part caused by the lamination shift of substrates or the like easily. SOLUTION: The inspection device of a liquid crystal display element 20 has a circuit constitution including an AC generating and supplying part 13 and a triple-pole switch 25 which is connected to the part 13. When switch terminals 18, 19 are connected with a switch 23, segment electrodes 21 and common electrodes 11 become an equal potential and when switch terminals 15, 16 are connected with a switch 24, segment electrodes 21 and common electrodes 11 become an equal potential and segment electrodes 22 and common electrodes 12 become an equal potential. On the other hand, a potential difference is to be generated between the common electrodes 11 and the segments 22. As a result, an overlap area of the common electrodes 11 and the segment electrodes 22, that is, only abnormal lighting parts are to be lighted. Moreover, an inspection for lighting full surface is to be performed by allowing switch terminals 17, 18 and switch terminals 14, 15 to be respectively connected with the switch 23 and the switch 24.
