NAVIGATION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus which selects a predetermined screen from different reduced-scale map screens displayed to a plurality of screens and updates the plurality of screens at an update speed of the screen. SOLUTION: The navigation apparatus has a drive simulation function whereby map data including road network information is stored beforehand, a route between inputted points is searched for, scrolling of sequentially updating road map data along the searched route with displaying one's own vehicle position on the searched route is carried out, thereby guiding the route in conjunction with pseudo running. The navigation apparatus includes a display device 23 which divides a display screen to a plurality of screens and displays maps of reduced scales on the respective divided screens, a map reduction scale judgement means 15-4 which judges and selects a most detailed map from the plurality of reduced scale maps displayed by the display device, and a display control means 15-6 which changes the plurality of divided screens at an update speed corresponding to a reduction scale of the selected map.
