METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DISTRIBUTING VIDEO DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a client to efficiently request the distribution of video data again by reporting time, when the distribution of video data related to the request is enabled to the client, when the request of video data distribution from the client can not be accepted because of a limit in the amount or number of video data. SOLUTION: Corresponding to the distribution request of specified video data stored in a remote server 100 on a network from a client 104, a proxy server 1000 performs the transfer and distribution of the video data. When the transfer speed is lower than the reproduction rate of the prescribed video data, the transfer is stopped and the refusal of the distribution is reported to the client 104 by the respective parts of the proxy server 1000. In this case, the time, in which the distribution of the prescribed video data is enabled, is operated from a transfer enable rate, a whole size under transfer at present, the reproduction rate and time from the start of distribution to the present and reported to the client 104 by the respective parts. Thus, the distribution is efficiently requested from the client again.
