MANUFACTURE OF IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an image display device, enabling alignment marks to be made simply with good accuracy, and enabling accurate alignment even on a large-sized substrate. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of an image display device includes a process for aligning two plates, a face plate 1 having an image display part 2 and a rear plate 4 having an electron emitting part 5 made up of electron emitting elements disposed in a plane. According to this manufacturing method of an image display device, alignment markers 3, 6 are made by cruciformly removing portions of island patterns having the same material as that of the component member of the image display part 2, and/or portions of island patterns having the same material as that of the electron emitting part 5. etc., by a physical working method such as laser machining.
