METHOD FOR BRAZING PLATE TYPE HEAT EXCHANGER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it easy and inexpensive to execute a brazing operation on the occasion of brazing the parts of intersecting points of crests and troughs of corrugations when corrugated-plate-shaped heat transfer plates in a plate type heat exchanger are laid on each other. SOLUTION: A main body 12 whereon first and second heat transfer plates 1a and 1b are set and are positioned and fixed in this state by a jig or the like is provided and a tiltable cover body 13 is provided for the main body 12 so that it can be opened and closed, while a plate 14 for a screen is provided in the central part of the cover body. The plate for the screen is provided with holes corresponding to brazing positions respectively. A brazing material is put on the plate for the screen of the cover body 13 in a closed state and applied onto the heat transfer plates through the holes by a spatula. According to this constitution, it is possible to apply a prescribed amount of brazing material surely and quickly to each part of the intersecting point and also to execute a coating operation by screen printing. Accordingly, the coating operation can be executed easily and can be made inexpensive.
