Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition excellent in water resistance, weatherability, acid resistance, dispersion stability and the like by using as the constituent a homopolymer of a polymerizable monomer having polycyclic alicyclic hydrocarbon rings or a copolymer thereof. SOLUTION: The composition contains a homopolymer of a polymerizable monomer of the formula or a copolymer thereof, In the formula, R1 is H or CH3; R2 is H, a halogeno, alkyl, alkoxy, alkoxy-, cycloalkyloxy-, aryloxy- or aralkyloxycarbonyl, OH, hydroxymethyl, COOH, oxo, NO2, (N-substituted) amino, CN, or (N-substituted) carbamoyl; X is a binding group consisting of ester linkages or amide linkages; the ring Z is a polycyclic alicyclic hydrocarbon ring, preferably an adarnantane ring; and n is 1 or greater. The copolymerizable rnonomer used preferably comprises an aromatic vinyl monomer, a (hydroxy) alkyl (meth)acrylate, a glycidyl (meth)acrylate, a COOH-containing monorner or a silane-containing vinyl monomer.
