Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a work vehicle from reaching an excessive speed in reverse travelling even if an accelerator pedal is unintentionally depressed and improve safety of the work vehicle by changing a specified maximum speed to a smaller value when the work vehicle is put in a reverse travelling state and regulating a reverse travelling speed to a smaller level than a forward travelling speed. SOLUTION: When applied to a golf cart, a throttle valve opening calculation means 51 calculates an opening of a throttle valve 23 based on signals detected by a potentiometer 34 to detect a throttle opening, a speed sensor 10, and an intake pressure sensor 26, and then a DC motor 63 is driven. In this case, a travelling direction of the cart is determined in a travelling direction determination means 57. If the cart is in forward travelling, speed V is compared with a first maximum speed Vmax1 in a maximum speed comparison means 52, and when V>Vmax1 the travelling speed of the cart is regulated to Vmax1. If the cart is in reverse traveling, speed V is compared with a second maximum speed Vmax2 (=Vmax1/2), and when V>Vmax2 the travelling speed of the cart is regulated to Vmax2.
