END STRUCTURE OF SPANDREL WALL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily construct a spandrel wall by projecting both longitudinal edge parts of a handrail top rail and a vertial decorative plate from the spandrel wall, and fitting the upper part of the vertical decorative plate formed to be reduced in the cross direction in a fitting recessed part formed on the lower part of the projecting part where the end part of the handrail top rail is projected from the vertical end face of the spandrel wall. SOLUTION: A handrail top rail 6 is fitted to the upper surface 4a of a spandrel wall 4, and a vertical decorative plate 7 is fitted to the vertical end face 4b, right and left longitudinal edge parts of the handrail top rail 6 and the vertical decorative plate being projected from the spandrel wall 4. The rear end part of the handrail top rail 6 is a projected part 6a projected from the vertical end face 4b of the spandrel wall 4 by a designated length, and a fitting recessed part 9 opened only to the lower side is formed on the lower part of the projecting part 6a. The upper part of the vertical decorative plate 7 is a narrow part 7a reduced in width in the cross direction, and the upper part of the narrow part 7a is fitted in the fitting recessed part 9 to construct the spandrel wall. By this end structure of the spandrel wall 4, it is not necessary to conduct fastening for the end part of the handrail top rail 6 and the upper end part of the vertical decorative end plate 7, so that the construction efficiency can be improved, and even if the accuracy of the vertical end face 4b of the spandrel wall 4 and the upper surface of the spandrel wall 4 is bad, the wall can be finished finely.
