PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a distance between the image forming portion of a recording medium and an ink emitting surface constant even if the thickness of the recording medium changes and to smoothly feed even a recording medium hard to bend. SOLUTION: The position of a platen holding member 670 is determined by the contact position of the cam outer peripheral surface of the platen height variable cam 681 fixed to a platen height changeover shaft 680 with a platen reinforcing stay 690. The platen height variable cam 681 has function for changing over the height of a platen 130 to change the position thereof and the outer peripheral surface distance thereof is changed to change over the height of the platen.
