Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the decomposing/removing performance by a photocatalyst and at the same time, reduce the energy consumption of a light source for activating the photocatalyst and thereby prolong the life of the light source. SOLUTION: A quantity of light for activating a photocatalyst is measured using a quantity of light detecting means 6, and the optimal quantity of light is decided by a quantity of light control means 5 based on the measured quantity of light, and further the quantity of light of a light source 2 is adjusted under control using a quantity of light adjusting means 7. Thus the photocatalyst is activated by the quantity of light required for decomposing and removing a substance to be removed.
