PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the number of part items, to simplify a structure, to save labor in manufacture and to prevent early wear out by forming projecting parts obtained by bending a towel body in a direction orthogonal with its longitudinal direction to a gather form in part of the towel body. SOLUTION: The cotton towel body l formed to an approximately rectangular shape is formed with a pair of the right and left projecting parts 2 in the central part in its longitudinal direction. These two projecting parts 2 are produced to the gather form by bending the towel body 1 to one side of the towel body 1 by a prescribed length along the longitudinal direction thereof, then turning up the towel body to extend the towel body to the other side, projecting the extended part by a prescribed length from the towel body 1, turning up this part to form the first bent part 2a in the shape of approximately the figure 8, extending the bent part as it is to one side to project the same by the prescribed length from the towel body 1, then again turning up this part to form the second bent part 2a in the shape of approximately the figure 8. Then, the towel may be produced only by the towel body 1 and sewing threads.
