CARBON DIOXIDE TRANSCUTANEOUS AND TRANSMUCOSAL ABSORPTION COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition that permits skin and mucosa to continuously absorb carbon dioxide transcutaneously or transmucosally and is useful for beauty and therapy of skin and mucosa by allowing the objective composition to include water, a thickener and foamed carbon dioxide. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) water, (B) a thickener and (C) foamed carbon dioxide. In a preferred embodiment, the contents of the component A and the component B are 60-99.9 wt.% and 0.1-40 wt.% based on the total amounts of the components A and B, respectively. The content of the component C is preferably >=0.1 vol.%, more preferably >=1 vol.% and particularly >=2 vol.%. In addition to the above-stated components, (D) a moisturizing agent, (E) a lipophilic substance, and (F) a surfactant may be used preferably in amounts of 0.1-25 wt.%, 0.01-10 wt.% and 0.01-10 wt.%, respectively.
