OPENING/CLOSING MECHANISM OF MOLD FOR SECTION OF I.S. MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold opening/closing mechanism for the section of an I.S. machine having a mold carrier assembly and plural shafts which are horizontal and extend axially. SOLUTION: A spacer 64 fixed to the lower side of a frame 52 has a hole extending in a perpendicular direction and the hole is communicated with an outlet opened downward of a plenum to supply cooling air from the plenum to a perpendicular cooling air passage of a mold half body 10. A manifold 49 has a pair of cylindrical inlet holes extending in a horizontal direction. A pair of cylindrical pipes are accepted in the cylindrical inlet holes. First and second elbows 42 connect the respective second ends of the cylindrical pipes to a sleeve 36 so that the cooling air from a duct is supplied to a pair of the pipes. A device which is capable of separating the manifold and the mold carrier and maintaining the separated state is fixed between the manifold and the mold carrier.
