Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for cutting a material which is flexible, lightweight, easy to handle and generates few secondary products by cutting by a mechanism that a laser beam torch can be far detached from a drive source. SOLUTION: In a cutting method by a laser beam cutting an object to be cut by using a laser beam torch 1 irradiating the object to be cut by converging a laser beam 16 by a condenser lens 3 and by injecting water jet together with a formed converged beam 3, after determining the focus of a condenser lens 4 so that a distance between the laser beam torch 1 when performing gouging and a beam spot 17 to be formed on the cutting surface of the object to be cut, becomes the thickness or over of the object to be cut, the water jet whose direction is adjustable is injected to the beam spot 17. Thus, by performing continuous gouging making the laser beam torch 1 lower plural times, the object to be cut is cut.
