Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lighten the weight and miniaturize a sliding type constant velocity universal joint by setting the ratio of the width from the spherical center to the end of an inside joint member to a pitch circle diameter of a fitting part of the inside joint member to a specific value or larger. SOLUTION: An inside joint member 20 is provided with a projecting spherical outer circumferential face 23 and defines a guide groove 25, extending axially in an equally-divided position in the circumferential direction. The inside joint member 20 is connected to a stamp shaft in a fitting part 26 having a tooth form. This sliding type constant velocity universal joint for a propeller shaft is formed with the ratio of the width W from the spherical center O2 of the inside joint member 20 to the end face of the inside joint member 20 in a cage large diameter side to a pitch circle diameter DS of the fitting part 26 of the inside joint member 20 being set to W/DS>0.27. This constitution can reduce the axial width of the inside joint member, to reduce the weight, miniaturize the joint, and reduce the cost.
