Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new microorganism decomposing cyanide compounds, comprising microorganisms belonging to the genus Cordona or the genus Burkholderia having cyanide compound-decomposing ability and useful, e.g. for the treatment of soil, waste water or underground water containing cyanide compounds (e.g. a metallocyanide complex). SOLUTION: This microorganism is a new one belonging to the genus Cordona [e.g. Cordona sp TM9-1b (FERM P-17243), or the like] or the genus Burkholderia [e.g. Burkholderia sp TM9-2a (FERM P-17241), or the like] having cyanide compound-decomposing ability and is useful e.g. for the treatment of soil, waste water or underground water containing cyanide compounds such as metallocyanide complexes (e.g. an iron cyano-complex, a nickel cyano- complex, a cadmium cyano-complex, or the like). These microorganisms were obtained by collecting soils from various spots in Japan, culturing them in a medium containing an iron cyano-complex, subjecting the culture product where the propagation of microorganisms is found to a test of decomposing the iron cyano-complex and by collecting the microorganisms capable of decomposing/removing the iron cyano-complex. |
