METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR EXCHANGING ELECTRONIC DOCUMENT AND RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document communication system capable of preparing an electronic document including external characters without considering a character type managing system on the side of reception. SOLUTION: An external character managing server 30 preserves external characters and expression information to be used for expressing that external characters by correlating them with each other. When using an external character, a document preparation side system 10 acquires the expression information by confirming that the external character from the external character managing server 30. Then, the electronic document is prepared by inserting the acquired expression information at a relevant spot. When the electronic document in which the expression information is inserted is received, a document display system 20 acquires the relevant external character from the external character managing server 30 on the basis of that expression information and displays the electronic document on a screen after replacing the expression information of the document by this external character.
