Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost, low-current-consumption display which has excellent contrast in both a light lighting state and a dim lighting state as a display, which has an optical shutter and a back light cell matching each other, by using a PDLC optical shutter material and an EL back light material. SOLUTION: The patterned optical shutter and back light layer which match each other have a pixel 'window' formed and an image printed in the background appears and disappears through the window. In particular, a mask layer 250 has an image and is inserted between the optical shutter layer and back light layer to display an information image and hide an inactive area of the display and further an electrode trace connecting an active area of the display. The display 200 is sufficiently thin and flexible and can be united with a touch screen 290.
