Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system for grasping a meter state. SOLUTION: Portable radio equipment 3 performs wireless activation to a wireless handset 5 and when the wireless activation is received, the wireless handset 5 transmits a telegraphic activation message to a meter 7 (step 201). When the telegraphic activation message is received, the meter 7 transmits a pointer value and meter state information through the wireless handset 5 to the portable radio equipment 3 as a telegraphic response message (step 202). When the pointer value and the meter state information are received, the portable radio equipment 3 transmits a telegraphic end message through the wireless handset 5 to the meter 7 (step 203). When there is abnormality in the meter 7, the portable radio equipment 3 displays an error message on the screen.
