PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a decrease of writing voltage even when there is much display data so as to surely generate writing electrical discharge by providing a correction means to correct an output amount from a writing means in each scanning line based on a detected display cell number. SOLUTION: A correction means is provided to correct an output amount from a writing discharge means in each scanning line based on a detected display cell number. A display data amount detection circuit 81 detects the display data amount for writing discharge for every 1 line is detected by a display data amount detection circuit 81 in the writing discharge period of a scanning period, and the detection amount DAC is outputted therefrom. The amount DAC is inputted to an impedance control part divided for every scanning electrode of an impedance converter 91. The impedance converter 91 controls the output impedance of an impedance control part 91 so that the impedance of all output lines may be equal to each other even if the amount DAC is varied.
