Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalytic combustion type gas sensor enabling to perform accurate measurement in environment large in temp. difference while dispensing with a special temp. detection means and an accessory circuit. SOLUTION: The catalytic combustion type gas sensor is equipped with a detection element wherein a carrier having a catalyst supported thereon is arranged to the periphery of a metal wire and a comparison element wherein a carrier is arranged to the periphery of a metal wire and the carrier layer of the comparison element has a black or grey color. The carrier layer of the detection element comprises γ-alumina and black pigment is compounded with the carrier layer of the comparison element in an amt. of 10-20 wt.%. The compounding amt. of the black pigment in the carrier layer of the comparison element is 15 wt.% and the particle size of the carrier layer of the comparison element is 1.2 times that of the carrier layer of the detection element.
