Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue a heating operation even when a compressor stops at the time when an outdoor air temperature is very low, by a constitution wherein the heating operation can be conducted by a heating means alone in the stoppage of the compressor, in equipment wherein an air heating operation by an electric heater or the like is used for helping a refrigerating cycle. SOLUTION: On the occasion of a heating operation, it is discriminated whether or not an outdoor air temperature is higher than a prescribed value (e.g. -15 deg.C), and in the case of YES, an ordinary heating operation by a refrigerating cycle is conducted. In other words, a refrigerant coming out from a compressor 20 is made to flow through an indoor heat exchanger 15, an outdoor expansion valve 23 and an outdoor heat exchanger 22 in this sequence and air is heated in the indoor heat exchanger 15. Besides, the compressor 20 is subjected to an inverter control, while turning ON/OFF of a first electric heater 16 is switched over. At the time when the compressor 20 is stopped and the outdoor air temperature is lower than -15 deg.C, entry in a backup operation mode is executed and a fan 14 is started, while first and second electric heaters 16 and 17 are turned ON. Thereby the heating operation is continued with the capacity equal to that of the refrigerating cycle.
