Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coal fired boiler in which increase in the current velocity of combustion gas can be suppressed and ash erosion of heating tube can be prevented. SOLUTION: The coal fired boiler comprises a furnace for combusting fuel, and a lateral rear heat transfer section arranged with a group of heating tubes passing combustion gas. A perforated panel 8 for preventing abrasion of heating tubes is disposed between the wall faces 6 of heat transfer section in the vicinity of the most downstream side heating tube 4 in the heating tube group at the lateral rear heat transfer section in the direction of combustion gas flow or in the vicinity of the upstream side or downstream side heating tube in the direction of combustion gas flow. According to the structure, inlet current velocity of combustion gas flowing into the downstream side heating tube group is not increased and increase in the current velocity of combustion gas can be suppressed in the heating tube group while making uniform the density of ash particles. A perforated panel 8 having distribution in the aperture rate is preferably employed.
