Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous dispersion of a water-soluble amidine polymer that is excellent in handling properties with a low viscosity maintained even at a high concentration and has a stable dispersion state, and provide a process for producing the aqueous dispersion thereof. SOLUTION: This aqueous dispersion of a water-soluble amidine polymer has an amidine unit represented by the formula (wherein R1 and R2 are each independently hydrogen or a methyl group; and one amidine unit constitutes two polymer structure units) and 1-10 mol%, based on the total structure units in a polymer, carboxylic acid unit. A process for producing an aqueous dispersion of a water-soluble amidine polymer comprises a first step of polymerizing an N-vinyl carboxylic acid amide, a (meth)acrylonitrile and a polymerizable unsaturated carboxylic acid in a water solvent to produce an aqueous dispersion of a polymer, wherein the amount of the charge stock of a polymerizable unsaturated carboxylic acid is 1-10 mol%, based on the total monomers and a dispersant comprising a water-soluble polymer or a surfactant is allowed to coexist, and a second step of acid-modifying the aqueous dispersion of the polymer produced in the first step in the presence of nitrate ions. |
