Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid crystal display device which is bright with sufficient utilization efficiency of light in both of the reflection mode and the transmission mode, and which has a wide reproducing range of colors. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device includes at least a counter substrate 1 having a transparent electrode 4, an array substrate 2 having pixels with reflection layers 9 laminated at specified intervals, a liquid crystal material layer 3 which conducts modulation and display according to the voltage applied between the substrates 1, 2, and a backlight part disposed on the back side of the array substrate 2. In this device, the reflection layer 9 has openings as holes, and microlenses 13 are disposed in matching with the region corresponding to the pixels and between the reflection layers 9 and the backlight part.
