Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the spontaneous combustion of low grade coals at a low cost. SOLUTION: Coal is granulated in a modification pretreatment system 1, followed by pulverization with water to obtain a slurry preparatory to modification. The slurry is retained at 200-350 deg.C and 70-150 kg/cm2 for a defined period of time in a modification system 2 to obtain a slurry of improved coals. The improved coal slurry is scattered on a coal stockpile 4 the inside of which is made to be flame retardant by the permeation of filtrate from the slurry and on the outer layer of which a preventive layer 41 of ignition is formed by pulverized coals. In addition, when crushing various kinds of coals, the slurry of improved coals may be scattered thereon. |
