Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve discharge characteristics of an organic electrolyte battery used at low temperature without grading discharge characteristics at room temperature. SOLUTION: This organic electrolyte battery, comprising a spiral electrode grope 3 having a sheet-shaped positive electrode plate 4 consisting of a positive active material, conductive agent and binder and a sheet-shaped negative electrode plate 6 made of an alkaline metal or an alloy of the same wound together via a separator 12 and an organic electrolyte containing dissolved lithium, achieves an improvement in discharge characteristics at low temperature and the prevention of degradation thereof at room temperature as well by employing as a positive active material a synthesized manganese dioxide prepared by heating a synthesized manganese dioxide with a specific surface area of 60-95 m2/g and an average particle size of 30-40 μm at temperatures ranging from 380 to 470 deg.C to form a particle of 23-30 m2/g for a specific surface area after heat treatment. |
