Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable automatically measuring arrangement pitch size of ply cords of metal wire, wire, etc., which are included for reinforcing an automobile tire. SOLUTION: This automatic measuring apparatus is equipped with a data record operation control system 18 wherein a radiant ray irradiator 5 having a collimator 7 and an image sensing tube 6 are arranged facing with each other interposing a tire 1 and keeping a specified distance, local shield of a radiant ray irradiation part is facilitated by stopping down a radiant ray with the collimator 7, an outer peripheral surface radiant ray shielding body 8, an upper part radiant ray shielding body 9 and an inside shield shutter 10 are arranged around the radiant ray irradiation part, a distance between ply cords 19a and 19b is used, radiant ray amount distribution of images of the ply cords which the image sensing tube 6 has picked up by a double wall transmission both surface or double wall transmission single surface image sensing system is recorded, each ply cord is distinguished from the distribution, the arrangement pitch size is automatically operated, it is detected that the tire and an inner shield shutter are arranged at specified positions, and radiant ray irradiation is made possible.
