SOLUTION: In this vertical centrifugal pump, a magnetic cylinder 2 equipped with plural permanent magnets for generating rotational magnetic field, is driven by a motor 9 in the inner surface of a nonmagnetic hollow cylinder, a rotor 4 capable of being rotated by means of a rotating magnetic field with a little gap maintained, is provided in the inner side while being set apart by a hollow cylinder made of nonmagnetic material high in electrical resistance so as to let a connected impeller 7 be rotated by means of the rotation of the motor. Repulsive magnets are provided for the circumference, in order to prevent the rotor from being brought into contact with the circumferential wall. |
