METHOD OF OPERATING COKE OVEN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of operating coke oven capable of securing a long non-working time zone over all of the operating area so as to be able to avoid a planed reduction of production of coke. SOLUTION: This method of operating coke oven consisting of many carbonizing chambers equipped with combustion chambers at both adjacent sides and in carrying out a unit oven work consisting of a coke-discharging work from the carbonizing chamber and successive filling work of a raw material coal, is to secure a non-operating time not performing the unit oven work in each operating area continuously by dividing a coke oven part for which one operating crew is in charge of one unit oven work, to plural operating areas, and repeating to perform the plural unit oven works of plural carbonizing chambers belonging to one operating area continuously and then perform the plural unit oven works of plural carbonizing chambers belonging to the other operating areas continuously, successively in each of the above operating areas.
