SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING COMMUNICATION NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly interconnect existing digital communication network or analog communication network with ATM communication network, mobile communication network or the Internet. SOLUTION: An ATM IF 20 has an interface function with an ATM communication network. An SIG 50 transmits/receives a control signal to/from a mobile communication network, other GW and exchange system and other function blocks in its own GW. A controller 60 controls entire GW. A diversity hand-over processing unit (DH) 30 executes a hand-over and diversity function in the mobile communication network 101. A multiplexer(MUX) 40 applies multiplexing/demultiplexing processing to various control signals and inter-user information and makes transmission reception with function blocks to be processed. A multimedia signal processor(MSP) 70 conducts processing such as required code conversion and encryption and matching with a signal form of the existing communication network.
