PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and surely conduct a pull-in of a tilt servo of an objective lens holding body with respect to an optical disk. SOLUTION: Prior to pull-in a tilt servo, the position of an objective lens holding body is driven by the focus driving means (a driving coil) of a lens actuator 9 so that the body is located at a center position along a focus direction. Thus, the direction of an objective lens holding body 3, which is tilted, becomes approximately horizontal by the mechanical interference between the focus direction and the tilt, and a tilt sensor 10 detects a tilt error. Then, a pull-in of a tilt servo can be conducted to quickly and surely execute a tilt servo.
