PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confirm a number which has been inputted last without performing any special key operation by adjacently providing a 1st-line display area where the calculation result, etc., of input numbers is displayed and a 2nd-line display area where the input numbers are displayed. SOLUTION: To calculate, for example, an arithmetical operation equation [123+45÷6=28], a number '123' is inputted with numeric keys (1-51) and displayed in the 1st-line display area (1-41) after the calculator is cleared. Then an arithmetic key (1-52) which stands for '+' is pressed and the arithmetic symbol is displayed in an arithmetic symbol area (1-43). Then a number '45' is inputted and displayed in the display area (1-41). When a next arithmetic key '÷' is pressed, the intermediate result '168' of the calculation is displayed in the 2nd-line display area (1-42) and the display of the display area (1-41) is cleared. A number '6' is then inputted and displayed in the display area (1-41) and an equal key (1-53) is pressed, so that the final calculation result '28' is displayed in the display area (1-41) while the display area (1-42) is cleared.
