Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain toner welding to the surface of a photoreceptor and the scraping of the photoreceptor while maintaining excellent cleaning performance. SOLUTION: This device 6 is constituted so that an electrostatic latent image on the surface of the photoreceptor 1 is developed with the toner by a reversal developing system and the toner is transferred to transfer material, then the toner remaining on the surface of the photoreceptor 1 is removed by brining a brush 62 into contact with the surface of the photoreceptor 1. In such a case, the resistance of the brush 62 is within 103 to 108 Ω.cm and brush density is within 30,000 to 100,000 pieces/inch2, and voltage obtained by superposing AC voltage whose frequency is 100 to 2,000 Hz and whose peak-to-peak voltage is 400 to 700 V on DC voltage having a reverse polarity to the electrification polarity of the toner and being 100 to 300 V expressed as an absolute value is applied to the brush 62, and the brush 62 is rotated in a reverse direction to the rotating direction of the photoreceptor 1 at a contact part with the photoreceptor 1.
