TURNING SUPPORT MECHANISM FOR EXTERNAL MIRROR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external mirror turning support mechanism capable of easy assembly by decreasing the number of part items and capable of enhancing flexibility of design. SOLUTION: In this turning support mechanism for an external mirror comprising a fixed base part 1 fixed to a car body, a movable base part 3 for mounting a mirror body, a shaft part 2 turnably connecting both the base parts, and clutch parts 6 provided in base part opposed surfaces 1b, 3b so as to be detached from an engaging condition in the case of applying a load exceeding a preset spring pressure to hold an attitude of the mirror body protruded or stored, a spring part 5a pressing the base part opposed surface in an approaching direction to generate a spring pressure is formed in a stopper 5 mounted in the shaft part 2 for preventing the movable base part 3 from falling out.
