This device records digital video data only for searching 23 generated by a compression circuit 17 on a track only for searching 55b of a disk 55 via a recording means only for searching 24. At the time of reading data 23 recorded on the track 55b of the disk 55 by a reproducing means only for searching to execute demodulate-extending processing of data 23 and reproduce-displaying it on a display means, it is possible to display a reproduced picture for searching 25 along a time base stream.
