ALKALINE SECONDARY BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress rise of the internal pressure associated with propagation of the charge-discharge cycles and to enhance the charge-discharge cyclic service life. SOLUTION: This alkaline secondary battery is composed of a positive electrode 2 having such a structure that a paste containing an active material and binder is put fully in an electroconductive board, a negative electrode 1 having structure that a paste containing active material and binder is put fully in an electroconductive board, and alkaline electrolytic solution. The binder of at least one of the electrodes 2 and 1 consists of one or more sorts of polymers, and in the infrared absorptive spectrum, exhibits absorptions at 1710±40 cm-1 and/or 1580±40 cm-1, 1400±40 cm-1, and 1090±40 cm-1.
