ELECTROCHEMICAL SENSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for facilitating the low-cost and simple manufacture of a sensor avoiding interference between a conductive path and an electrochemical active sensor layer by a thick-film technique. SOLUTION: This electrochemical sensor at least includes an electrochemical active sensor layer 3 formed in an area of an electrical insulating flat substrate 1 by a thick-film technique so that the sensor layer 3 can contact an aqueous sample to be measured in a measurement area 6, and a conductive path 2 formed on the substrate 1 by a similar thick-film technique so as to guide a signal, and the sensor layer 3 at least contains as a sensor constituent a metal oxide selected from the periodic table VII and VIII groups. In this case, the electrochemical active sensor layer 3 is connected to the conductive path 2 through a conductive bridge 8 made of a corrosion-resistant material formed substantially parallel to the substrate 1 from the measurement area 6.
