Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To let a sufficient exhaust emission control effect be exhibited while an increase in exhaust gas flow resistance caused by a catalyst converter is being kept minimum. SOLUTION: The downstream ends of four exhaust pipes 16 extended from a multi-cylinder engine are collected together so as to be connected with the upstream end of an exhaust expansion part 17, and the downstream end of the exhaust expansion part 17 is also connected with an exhaust collecting pipe 18. The ends of paired mounting stays 30 are fixed to the inner circumferential surface of the exhaust expansion part 17, and the outer circumferential surface of a catalyst carrier 26 is supported by the other end. A catalyst converter 26 is an article having catalysts carried in a pipe shaped carrier formed with punching holes 261, and its axial line L is so disposed as to be laid along the flow of exhaust gas. This constitution thereby enables exhaust gas to flow smoothly, enables its flow resistance to be effectively lessened, and also enables exhaust gas to be effectively brought into contact with the catalyst converter 26, so that emission control effect can be enhanced. |
