Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a smelting vessel having high spalling resistance, high hot strength and strength to molten steel wear by specifying the hot bending strength S (MPa) of magnesia-chromic refractories for lining of the sections of the smelting vessel to be immersed in the molten steel, which sections are subjected to mechanical stress by the deformation of supporting hardware and/or iron shell to the value within a specific range at a specific temp. SOLUTION: The magnesia-chromic refractories is specified to the value within the range of the equation in a temperature range of 1200 to 1600 deg.C in the hot bending strength S (MPa). In the equation, (t) is a centigrade temperature and S>=0.5. The hot bending strength is preferably 3 to 8 MPa at 1400 deg.C and/or 1 to 5 MPa at 1500 deg.C and a Cr2O3 content is preferably 15 to 35 wt.% and firing is executed at >=1750 deg.C. As a result, the magnesite chromite refractories which are high in the hot strength, strong in molten steel wear, suppresses the occurrence of mechanical spalling and is improved in service life may be obtained. |
