PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the enlargement of a recording medium housing section by easily housing plural recording media different in dimensions and shapes, and forming only the partial housing portion of the recording medium housing section to have a dimension for housing the recording medium of a large thickness or of a small shape. SOLUTION: This changer 30 is provided with a disk reproducing unit 32 for reproducing a disk 11, and a disk housing unit 33 for horizontally housing plural disks 11 in a stacked state. In the disk housing unit 33, dedicated first disk housing sections 33a for housing 12 cm disks and second disk housing sections 33b for housing both 12 cm disks and small disks having adapters 43 loaded therein are alternately arranged. Because of the alternate arrangement of disks and small disks different in thickness and dimensions, a gap between the first disk housing section 33a and the second disk housing section 33b is set by considering the protruding amount of a hooking pawl protruded from the adapter 43 of one side of each housing portion in a thickness direction.
