DETECTOR FOR DEFECTIVE PIXEL IN SOLID-STATE IMAGE PICKUP ELEMENT, DEFECTIVE PIXEL CORRECTION DEVICE AND VIDEO CAMERA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a defective pixel at a position visually remarkable by surely detecting the defective pixel. SOLUTION: A defective pixel is detected and counted by using a first entire photographing image for a detection area A1, and when the defective pixel number exceeds a prescribed number storable in a memory, a smaller detection area A2 is set in the middle of a screen, the defective pixel is detected again and counted, the detection area is selected smaller unitl number of defective pixels reaches the prescribed number or below thereby detecting and correcting defective pixels in the middle of the screen with priority.
